Did You Get Johnson & Johnson? Don't Panic.
What to know about the immediate pause of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine
The Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine was placed on an immediate pause Tuesday morning due to six U.S recipients developing a disorder involving blood clots. All six recipients were women between the ages of 18-48. On Wednesday, the CDC will review the cases to discuss how to proceed with the vaccine's distribution. Johnson & Johnson are aware of the new issues and stated, "We have been working closely with medical experts and health authorities, and we strongly support the open communication of this information to healthcare professionals and the public."
If you did get the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, do not panic. Out of the 6.8 million vaccines distributed, only six have resulted in these symptoms. However, it is always best to be cautious. Those who received the vaccine a month or more ago are at very low risk. For those who received it in the last couple of weeks, be aware and report to your doctor immediately if you have any symptoms.
