Fall is excellent for vacationing because the leaves and weather are changing. Traveling to northern locations introduces cooler weather, making sightseeing more comfortable for some. However, warm-weather fans can still enjoy themselves in America’s autumn. Here are the six best destinations to visit for a fall getaway.
1. Frisco, Colorado
When fall comes, the dinner menu changes to favor the colder weather. While soups and stews are the headlines, some enjoy autumn brews like pumpkin and amber ales. If you like beer festivals, head to the Rocky Mountains for a fun Oktoberfest.
Frisco, Colorado, commemorates the occasion year-round but is even better in the fall. Its Oktoberfest occurs at Ein Prosit — a local restaurant serving fine beers and sausages for the dedicated crowds. What sounds better than a beer after hiking the trails?
The city is close to the Rocky Mountains, making day trips easy regardless of the destination. Head to Estes Park to see elk and other majestic wildlife as they roam the mountains.

Arizona might be too hot in the summer, making the fall a suitable time for a vacation. There’s plenty to do in the Phoenix metro area, but Sedona is quiet and only a few hours north.
