Bye Bye Cable! Why I cut the cord...

Many people have been laid off, furloughed, or just want to be more careful with their monies and with the uncertainty of COVID19 who can blame us. I decided to take a look at my bills and one of the first things to go was my cable. I just couldn’t justify paying almost 200 for television while I’m busy watching Mrs. America on Hulu or Kissing Booth 2 on Netflix.

So I bought a chromecast and downloaded every free app there is from FX to The CW. I streamed all the shows I wanted to watch when I wanted to watch them, but I started to notice some channels were putting their shows behind a paywall, which put a damper on my plan. I started to look for cable substitutes and a friend told me about a new service called RecTV. I went to the site and checked it out.

By their definition, “RecTV is a New inexpensive Internet-based Tv Streaming service that allows you the ability to Cut the Cord and Replace your traditional cable and satellite services. Think of RecTv as cable television on steroids, through the Internet, but for a fraction of the price.” The website says it has over 2000+ channels and movies, including OWN, BRAVO, E!, FOOD NETWORK and more for only $25 a month and I didnt have to sign a contract. I knew I wanted to try to try it out.

After about a month, I realized I really missed having all my shows in one place and discovering new shows channel surfing. RecTV also has local news channels, which I also really missed as well. I’ve been catching up on my BBC shows and watching tons of movies I forgot about. I use RecTV through my Firestick and I loaded up all my apps on my Firestick and feel like I’m armed to watch anything anytime. OH! Did I mention one subscription, gets you RecTV for two TVs?! I get cable in my living room and bedroom for an affordable rate!  Like any other service, RecTV isn’t perfect, but I rather pay $25 for a really good cable service than $200+ any day. I say try it and let me know what you think. Click here to find out more about RecTV.
