Resources and Organizations to Help Those Struggling Around the World

It feels like tragedies and unjust actions have been taking place left and right. Many countries are struggling, and we must amplify the voices of those not being heard. Here's a breakdown of what is happening in different countries and resources to help you do your part in making the world a safer place for everyone. Use your privilege for good. Act now.

Afghanistan

Over the past week, the Taliban has taken control of at least 11 of Afghanistan's 34 provincial capitals after the US military withdrawal. Cities, roads, and tensions are under the Taliban's control. The future of Afghan women is being compromised, fearing they will be ripped off their education and rights. People are desperately attempting to leave the country to escape due to fear.

Lebanon

Lebanon is in a crisis. The price of consumer goods has nearly quadrupled, leaving many without necessities such as medications and food. Fuel is scarce, leading to closures of power plants, water pumping stations, and hospitals. Citizens are left with little to no clean water, electricity, and air condition. A majority of civilians are living in poverty.

Yemen

Yemen is the largest humanitarian crisis in the world, with around 21 million people in need of humanitarian assistance, including more than 11 million children. Only half of the health facilities are functioning, and many that remain operational lack basic equipment like masks and gloves, let alone oxygen and other essential supplies to treat COVID-19. Many health workers have not received a regular salary in several years.
