Give Them Their Things! – A Celebration of Women- EVERYWHERE.

The Month of March has a plethora of eventful local, regional, and national celebrations. Among them is “Women’s History Month”- where 31 days are allotted to amplify the many feats and triumphs women have made throughout time. During this month, there are a myriad of ways one can honor the women in their lives.

Women history is “replete with examples of the unfailing bravery and grit of women in America, particularly in times of crisis and emergency.”- The White House . In March 1908, women marched for “better labor laws, conditions and the right to vote.”- Oprah Magazine . In 1910, Clara Zetkin introduced the concept of celebrating women globally at the International Conference of Women in Copenhagen. “International Women’s Day” was then formally recognized on March 8, 1911. President Jimmy Carter designated March 2-8, 1980 as National Women’s History Week. “In 1987, Congress declared March as National Women’s History Month in perpetuity.”- National Women’s History Alliance.

This year’s official International Women’s Day theme (2021) is #ChooseToChallenge. “It is a call-to-action to challenge the status quo by raising awareness against bias, celebrating women's achievement, and taking action for equality.”- Work Flow Max. Platforms such as SO SHE SLAYS, and others around the world are committed to showcasing, welcoming, and nurturing the women in their sphere. By not only becoming a subscriber to their different social media platforms, you can also become engaged with the other brands that network with them too. Check out some of these resources by simply clicking and sharing the cool articles, listening to podcasts and signing up for various online events. By doing so, you are supporting women.
