We got to speak with the owner, Christina, about her mobile beauty salon on wheels and what it’s like to be one of the first of it’s kind.
OKAY, A MOBILE SALON? HOW DID THIS EVEN GET STARTED?
Instant Pretty Lashes was founded in 2014. We started providing beauty services into the homes of our clients But decided that we didn’t want to invade our client’s space anymore by going into their homes however we still wanted to give people that, “to their door-step” type of service. So we came up with the idea, to convert a Mercedes Sprinter van into a mobile salon that would offer beauty services to any given location.
YOU DO THIS ALL OUT OF A VAN? HOW?
Yes, the van is completely remodeled to look and function just like a salon. It has two vanities stations with two chairs, a bed where we lash our clients and can convert into a cute couch for space when needed, and it even has a sink. The whole area is super sleek and compact, you wouldn’t think there was a lot in there, but there’s also a bathroom. You can stand up and fit about 6 people at one time.
WHAT ARE PEOPLE’S REACTIONS WHEN YOU SHOW UP IN YOUR MOBILE BEAUTY SALON?
They love how it's super convenient, easy, and chic. They are amazed by the fact that they still get that same experience that they would get at a regular salon just a little more exclusive to their given location. This modern-day convenience benefits the stay at home moms, the working moms, pretty much anyone with a busy life.
WHAT HAS IT BEEN LIKE OPERATING THIS NEW KIND OF BEAUTY SALON?
It’s been an amazing ride, we have good days on the road, and we have bad ones, but at the end of the day, we love what we do and really enjoy catering to others.
