The Relationships We Keep
“Living your best life, Loving your best self" quoted nobody LOL.
Time for some lady talk, fortunately for me I've poured up a glass of wine so I can relax, unwind and speak loosely of my feelings.
Recently I've been going through these crazy obstacles thrown my way by this game we call life. Within this time I learned months ago I was the most confident woman I could personally know, then suddenly at the blink of an eye my self-confidence went away, my positive energy shifted, my self love no longer existed. Somewhere in between the lines of me just existing I had lost or forgotten everything I once felt or knew. How or why? I have no idea, but the real question is, what was I doing before all of this "negative Nancy" attitude started to appear, to feel so great? That's when I began to indeed reach a point in wanting a desire to learn and understand myself. The things that make me tick, grow, and live. Let's be honest; I don't need to share one specific experience to say we can all relate to, in some way, lacking self-love.
So you think by now we know about energy exchange we would understand how important it is for us to nurture ours. Here I have taken the time out, written plenty of notes while discovering myself and what helps me gain the inner me back, I have worked through a few exercises that I will share, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
It all started with me picking up a few life-changing books that I 100% recommend, they are about your journey to personal freedom.
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz
The Mastery of Self by Don Miguel Ruiz
A Huge Part of my day before and recently have been self-affirmations. Below I’ve shared mine that I have saved on my phone, and I repeat to myself daily.
I am aligned with the energy of abundance.
Positivity is a choice; I choose to be positive.
My strength is more significant than any struggle.
I am guided, protected, and supported.
I am powerful beyond measure. (My favorite one of all because someone who has been a
great influence to me, has taught me this)
There is no wrong way to speak positive affirmations, write what makes you feel good, down.
Everyday I am starting to realize when I can help others or make someone else smile, it in some way, and it makes me feel like I have more purpose. I am reminded that I am blessed and I am given every tool and opportunity to bless someone else. This has recently been a staple for me; I challenge you to do something for someone, it can be as simple as holding the door for someone, writing a positive note for a spouse or coworker, showing love and compassion will help the universe to give back to you, what you put out. Being selfless makes all the difference in how I feel about my character and the person I am becoming.
Lastly, my FAVORITE thing of all time has been writing. Once I started to feel bad, it became clear whenever I picked up a pen and paper it is relieving to write every feeling down, for me in poetry form. Many of my close friends I know like to journal, can you imagine a diary full of secrets, your psychologist, one who listens but doesn't talk back, understands and doesn't judge. The best thing about this is once you realize how strong you really are, you can look back at your journal, remind your self how far you've come, why you never want to go back and even better, share your experiences with someone who may be at the moment going through something close to how you felt and help them with how you've overcome that moment. Just pick up the pen, the rest will follow.
Also random, but I've created a bucket list, of a bunch of random things I want to do, experience even eat. The funniest thing I've done was sky diving, the feeling is indescribable, and I would do it again. The lesson from this was that there is so much more in life to see and do rather than waste all of your energy focused on one bad temporary situation or feeling. Can you imagine what you have yet to experience, your life is a book still being written, one chapter leads to the next, don't be afraid to turn the page and keep reading.
I hope you feel a little more at ease knowing you aren't doing life alone, you can and will overcome every obstacle thrown your way. Feel free at any time to reach out to me, all it takes is a little reminder of how great you arë.
