What About Your Friends

What about your friends

Will they stand their ground

Will they let you down again

What about your friends are they gonna be low down

Will they ever be around or will they turn their backs on you

Let me vent for a minute.

But what do you do when you feel like your friends aren't showing up for you. My new mantra is if you don't show up for me I am not showing up for you. It's not petty, but you have to respect yourself too. I had people in my life who I considered best friends treat me like crap, disappear and reappear in their time.

For instance, while starting this website, I noticed that a lot of people I considered my fam have not fully supported this adventure. They know about it and sometimes might mention it, but they don't show love for you. They know how hard we work to make this website function on a daily basis, but do they shout you out, follow your stuff on social media. Nope. Nothing.

Sometimes you gotta break up with your long time best friend because the friendship doesn't make sense. You learn more about this when you get older. I have a best friend who I considered a sister, but after years of not being a good friend, I don't count on her anymore. Don't get me wrong if she needs me or vice versa we will be there for each other, but for certain stuff, I know she won't show up for me.

I am not perfect, but I do consider myself a good friend, but once I am done with someone, I am done.

Sometimes friendships you have to move on from and remember the good times. I used to get upset about certain friendships, but now I know my worth and to let it go.
